Titanium acoustic guitar strings - better than coated strings?

Rohrbacher titanuum guitar strings

Rohrbacher Technologies - the manufacturer of the world's first Titanium Acoustic Guitar Strings (U.S. Patent 6, 348, 646) - claims to bring you one step closer to guitar strings that last forever!

Rohrbacher strings are made from a titanium core, nickel wound. The corrosion proof strings for acoustic guitar are designed to replace light gauge steel sets.

Rohrbacher claim:
CORROSION PROTECTION - phosphor bronze wound sets are corrosion resistant, and their higher-end nickel wound sets are corrosion proof - the first corrosion proof metallic instrument strings! This feature equates to longer string life than any other metallic string.
LOWER STIFFNESS - a low modulus core equates to easier fretability during play.
SOUND BALANCE - the sets are designed for balanced response on acoustic guitars equipped with piezo or microphone pickups. The nickel wound sets are designed for use with hybrid pickup systems, including piezo/microphone, and magnetic/microphone type systems.
SIMPLE MAINTANANCE - unlike conventional strings which corrode, Rohrbacher strings require only a periodic cleaning for the purpose of removing finger contaminates that can affect sound quality.
